Park Rules


All visitors to Cape Chignecto Park must adhere to the following rules to ensure everyone has a pleasant stay.

 

  1. Guests are not permitted to enter the park without registering during normal business hours (posted above). Any unregistered vehicles will be towed at the owners expense.

  2. No open fires are permitted at backcountry campsites.  Fires are only permitted at designated walk-in campsites (fire grills) at New Yarmouth when the fire index is low to moderate.  Make sure your fire is out before you leave or turn in for the night.

  3. A permit is required and you must camp in the designated sites.

  4. Occupancy is limited to 1 tent per site (check with park staff).

  5. Quiet time is 10:30 pm until sunrise.

  6. Pets must be kept on a 2 metre (6 ft.) or shorter leash. Owners must clean up after their pets.

  7. Defacing or removal of natural features, signs or structures is not permitted.

  8. All laws respecting alcohol consumption will be strictly enforced.

  9. The operation of unauthorized vehicles is not permitted.

  10. Hunting, trapping or carrying firearms is prohibited within the park.

  11. Advertising or operation of any business is not allowed without a permit.

  12. The Parks Act & Regulations are in force at all times.  A copy is posted at the Visitors Centre for your reference.  Failure to comply with the regulations may result in your being asked to leave the park.
