1. Red Rocks |
Easy (less than 1/2 hour)
The beach at Red Rocks is a short and easy stroll from the
Visitor Centre. |

2. Christie Viewpoint Trail |
Moderate (1/2 - 1 hour)
This short loop ascends through an abandoned farmstead to the lower
slopes of the Cape Chignecto Escarpment. It offers excellent views
east across the dyke lands towards Advocate and west along the
coastline. |

3. Fundy Ridge Trail |
Moderately challenging (3 - 4 hours)
This 5 kilometre (3.1 mi) trail climbs for about a
kilometre (0.5 mi) to an elevation of 150 metres (500 ft). Walkers
will experience an old-growth forest ecosystem and breathtaking views
of Advocate Bay. The trail descends at McGahey Brook with steps to the
beach. It is about one kilometre (0.5 mi) back along the shore (take
note that a high tide may delay your return trip). |

4. McGahey Brook Canyon Trail |
Challenging (4 - 6 hours)
This challenging 9 kilometre (5.5 mi) trail follows the upper edge of
the McGahey Brook Canyon. The trail descends at McGahey Brook and
returns along the Fundy Ridge Trail or along the beach. |

5. Mill Brook Canyon Trail |
Very challenging (6 - 8 hours)
This trail has steep hills and lots of elevation making it very
challenging. It is 6 kilometres (4 mile) each way. The viewpoints
are spectacular, and the forest within the canyon is magical. Mill
Brook offers wilderness camping for those who wish to make this an
overnight trip. Camping permits can be purchased at the Visitor
Centre. |

6. Eatonville |
Very challenging (1 day - return)
This trail leads to the abandoned Eatonville Village site a short
distance from the Three Sisters rock formation. The trail begins with
a steep ascent from the beach at McGahey Brook and is a challenging 14
kilometre (9 mile) walk each way. It can be done in a day by avid
hikers who are fit. |

7. Refugee Cove |
Very challenging (minimum 1 day -
return)
This hike is 12 kilometres (7.5 miles) each way and has 3 steep hills
reaching an elevation of over 200 metres (600 ft). It can be done in a
day only by avid hikers who are very fit. An overnight hike to the
wilderness campsites at Refugee Cove is a better option for most
people. Note: you cannot return along the beach from Refugee Cove.
Serious injuries have occurred to people stranded by the tide. |

8. Cape Chignecto Coastal Trail |
Very challenging (3 - 4 days)
The Cape Chignecto coastal trail is approximately 51 kilometres (40
miles) long beginning and ending at the Red Rocks Trail Head. When you
venture along the coastal trail at Cape Chignecto be prepared for one
of Atlantic Canada’s most spectacular adventures. The views are
breathtaking. It can be done from either direction (clockwise or
counter-clockwise). A three to four day trip will allow time to stop
and explore the beaches and viewpoints along the way. |
